Hi! I'm an audio technologist with experience in audio programming, digital signal processing, game development, AR/VR, and interactive media. I also have strong interests and knowledge in acoustics, immersive audio, and AI/ML for music.
Even though I fall under a "Unicorn" category (fancy word for generalist), I consider my stance to be of a problem solver in the realm of audio, music, video games, interactive media, and engineering (software mostly, but I tweak circuits too).
I combined my passion for audio with cutting-edge XR technology at the University of Miami's Virtual Experiences and Simulation Lab (VESL). As the Developer Lead, I guided student developers through game audio, interactive media, and game development challenges.
Beyond academia, I'm a proud member of GrammyU and a recipient of the AVIXA 2023 Mosaic Scholarship Award. My work pushes the limits of audio-visual and interactive media, from tweaking audio plugins to enhancing virtual worlds. With over five years of experience in electronic music production, mixing, mastering, and sound design, I often find myself creating sounds late into the night.
My Master's thesis focuses on game audio and procedural audio systems, using a convolutional neural network for object detection to drive a procedural audio engine, and conducting a listening study to assess the realism and plausibility of procedurally created sounds against pre-recorded samples, and its impact on player immersion.
